A Boss Vs A Leader

source of images : www.facebook.com

While a leader can be a boss , not every boss can be a leader .To achieve success , the boss of the team or group should be the controller of the work , always in touch with his employees , directs them and fix their breakdowns .He should not depend on authority and inspiring fear to fulfill the desired job .

Even in education this could be applicable and worthy  to consider. A good teacher is a leader and never a boss .he should direct ,coach, and develop pupils to achieve the desired goal of education . Students are greatly motivated when they feel their teacher as a part of their success
A teacher is a leader that directs the learning group and not a shepherd that drives them .

This was my final assessment as "My Philosophy in Teaching '' /Methods of Teaching

ESSAY
In my perspective , the teacher should be a'' life long learner ''  to be up-to-date with the on going development .S/he should  exchange experience with professionals , but stick to the values and ethics of his career . A good teacher is always a student ; no satisfaction ,no end in the learning process .S/he   should always be  reflective ,i.e try to evaluate the style and behavior , and try to modify and improve it successively

Students' behavior is an important part of self-evaluation .The students' needs are the priority of the master teacher that he should include different styles to meet the different kinds of intelligences .At this point , lesson plan is essential to achieve the desired goals and objectives which is ''making an independent learner'' who is able to apply acquired knowledge everywhere and anytime.

The important thing I found in this course is the way to apply the levels of Bloom's taxonomy to achieve my goals . I was always aware of the above points , but I didn't have the right strategies to apply. My lesson plan is noticeably improved and becomes more effective  . My instructional design is fully changed : setting objectives ,designing activities and assessments , and the feedback for students and me as well . So ,the best teacher is the reflective teacher that evaluates himself after every single step he makes .

As a teacher, I should utilize students' creativity by considering human diversity , learning preferences ,and multiple intelligences of students .The teacher's style should be varietal to match all students needs , and suits the different kinds of students' intelligences.  The instructional process that utilizes multi-methodologies helps to arouse students' motivation and invests their creativity . Many students prefer to learn by visualization style ,i.e  see things in front of them as pictures ,videos , gestures ,graphic organizers …etc. This is also applied to setting activities and assessments .

The perspective of being stuck to the curriculum and school rules is also changed . I found in this course that the teacher is the master of the classroom . S/he can make any changes that serve his/her ultimate goal . also, s/he can suggest some modifications and convince the school administration if s/he find it worthy . The teacher is the decision maker .80% of classroom decisions are taken by the teacher . Students should also share in this process by giving suggestions , setting class rules …etc. This reinforce their self-esteem and engage them in the learning process effectively.

On the other hand , the teacher should only have 30% of the class speech . Students should work most of the time , because they 're the axis of  the learning process. They can share their experiences and information by activating team work that facilitates learning and let students discover the information instead of being a mere recorder .

All students should be included in the learning process .A good teacher doesn't say ''this student is hopeless'' . Every single student has a special kind of intelligence and learning preference .The teacher should discover it and set the plans that match all needs .
Even the activities and assessments must be designed according to Bloom's taxonomy. We do not teach students just to get high grades ,we must utilize their creativity and innovation .

Creativity does not mean to close your room and work hard to invent a new notion or a new idea . Creativity is to think how to apply knowledge into your daily life simply . Creativity doesn't mean complexity . It is a simple application of the acquired knowledge . I heard a story two days ago about a simple man who works in a soap factory . The machines were producing soap boxes some of which were empty . The owner held several meetings to solve this problem ,but the solution comes to cost 250000         $. The simple worker told the owner that he could solve the problem for 100$ only . The owner got astonished and asked how could this problem be solved by this man and for 100$ only ? The worker explained that they could buy a fan with a specific power and set it facing the producing machine ,then every empty box would definitely fly with the fan air .

Students' cognitive abilities must be taken into consideration before we set any lesson plan . Students must be treated in a way that matches their cognitive and developmental levels . By giving varietal exercises and utilizing different styles in teaching –learning process ,we  can build an effective , critical and creative generation .
